Site Remediation and Redevelopment
Charter appreciates the impact site redevelopment of a distressed property can have on the surrounding community. That’s why we’re actively engaged in this market, and support developers, general contractors, municipalities, institutions and Federal agencies to restore impaired properties for beneficial reuse. To facilitate redevelopment of these properties, Charter combines environmental remediation expertise with civil construction capabilities to enhance cost-effective cleanup of Superfund sites, waste disposal sites, brownfields, former military installations, and industrial properties.

Limiting Owners’ Liabilities
To limit owners’ liabilities, Charter routinely assumes an at-risk position in performing site remediation and redevelopment. We work with owners and stakeholders to develop an exit strategy and establish an execution plan that allows us to complete the project in the most cost-effective fashion possible. To lower the risks of owners and stakeholders, we have significant financial capabilities and bonding capacity. We also have in-place relationships with insurance companies and expertise in Cost Cap Insurance, Guaranteed Fixed Price Remediation, and Firm Fixed Price contract mechanisms.

Extensive Remediation Expertise
Charter has completed environmental remediation projects involving a wide range of remediation technologies. From implementing large-scale excavation and demolition projects to groundwater treatment, we provide the skills and qualifications to perform cost-effective remediation of impaired properties. More specifically, we provide the expertise to execute the complete remedial process, including site evaluation, field engineering, site work, restoration and closure.
